Winter / Spring 2011

I cannot believe that I have not updated the blog in over 5 months! Well, here it is! Evan is now walking (forward, backwards, spinning in circles) and running with ease. He was timid the first few weeks, but now he is a pro! He loves to be outside playing. Geoff put together his awesome new swing set this spring. Evan did not want much to do with it at first, but now he likes to swing and slide. He still loves his sandbox. He is also an accomplished sidewalk chalk artist. Evan loves to go for truck rides and to go see tractors and trucks. He also loves to go visit Meme! We have made several trips to the Little Rock Zoo. So far, the tigers have been the most entertaining for Evan. Geoff and I enjoy the people watching. Evan is still a good eater and sleeper. He is slowly pushing back his bedtime a bit, but he is still usually asleep by 7:30. He is waking up around 6:30 or 7:00 most days. He still hates a haircut. His hair just grows so fast! I think he has had 5 haircuts now, with each one more traumatic than the last. Evan's vocabulary is growing faster than we can keep up with! He loves to look at books and learn new words. Our biggest news is that we are expecting a baby girl on October 3, 2011. We plan to name her Stella Margaret Swihart. The first trimester was a bit rough with the nausea and fatigue, but Geoff was absolutely wonderful in taking care of me and Evan. Now I am feeling great and enjoying this special time with my family! Evan plans to give Stella the nursery, so we are decorating the front bedroom for him. Evan started to get curious about my growing belly and kept pointing and asking "what?". Now he pats my belly and says "baby". It's very sweet, but I don't think the poor guy really understands the magnitude of how this "baby" will change things for him! Here are some pics from the last several months!
Fun in the Snow!

One of Evan's favorite places to visit...
the airport!
Goofing around with Daddy at the Little Rock Zoo.
Evan LOVES his sandbox.
Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!
Turbo Bubble Technology = Awesome
This is the beggining of Evan's obsession with tractors.
He helped Grandpa Reagan plant corn this year.
Easter 2011
Evan's basket was filled with his favorites. No candy for this boy. He likes books, monkeys, tractors, and balls!
Rookie Mom lesson #247
Don't dress your baby in Christmas pajamas the night before Easter.
After a great lunch at Meme's, we spent the day with family playing with kites, cousins, but more importantly (to Evan)...TRACTORS!
We are trying to distract Evan from the tractors to hunt some Easter Eggs.
Evan did pick up a few, but Ava was the clear winner this year.
Here he spotted Ava's gator and Easter Eggs were forgotten for the rest of the day.
Evan had to be removed from a tractor in this pic, so no smiles from him.
Short water break.
Swing Set Assembly: Day 1
Poor Geoff did 99.9% of this on his own.
Evan provided comedic relief.
Evan lending a helping hand.
Washing off today's dirt.
Evan loves to take a bath with Elmo, or "Melmo", and bubbles.
Swing Set Assembly: Day 2
Evan's Truck!
He was so very excited to get his new truck.
