The rest of summer...

Here are a few highlights from the latter part of the summer. No particular order. Enjoy.
"Big Boy" car seat
Helping Mom work.
First Haircut!
We were trying to get an "after" shot, but Evan tried to kiss the airplane
and bumped his head on the steering wheel.
He really did great up until this point.
Church Fish Fry
Evan and Cate getting to know each other
Evan is probably a little bit embarassed at this point.
Cate had been crawling and showing off all her tricks,
and Evan just tipped over. Poor guy.
Recovery... I'm sure she didn't notice.
Fun in the Sun!
Relaxing in Heber Springs
Happy Father's Day!
Evan and Geoff ran almost every day until it just got too hot.
Evan loves going for rides in his Dad's new stroller.
Early morning shots, sweet sleepy boy
Bathtime Pics... Enjoy the hairstyles.
Ok. I have not been doing well keeping up with this blog. Evan will have his first birthday this month. I can't believe it. He's been growing, playing, learning, and changing. He loves stroller and wagon rides. He sleeps with his monkey every night. He loves bananas, strawberries, peaches, and green beans. He LOVES macaroni and cheese. We're still trying new foods. He is strictly on sippy cups now...no more bottles. Evan didn't seem to mind, but I wasn't ready to make the change. He grows hair and teeth like no child I have ever seen. His favorite book is Brown Bear. He army crawls and scoots on his bottom, but no walking or pulling up yet. He throws his toys all over the place and bang anything to make noise. His favorite toy just might be his Dad's hat. Pictures from his first birthday should be posted soon!

Evan's Baptism

Evan was baptised on May 30, 2010 at Lakeside United Methodist Church. Evan did very well. He did cry during the actual baptism, but he quickly recovered. He had many loving family members in attendance. He spent most of church smiling and laughing at all the familar faces in the pews behind him. Evan had friends and family come from all over to see his baptism. Grandpa Jack, Grandma Amy, and Aunt Rachel came from Aiken, SC. Nana (Ann) traveled from Washington DC, and Vijay traveled from Austin, TX. Aunt Liz and Uncle Tom came from Montgomery, AL. Aunt Jana and Uncle John visited us from Harrison, AR. Meme, Grandpa Reagan, Uncle Stan, Aunt Debra, Ava, Spencer, and Oliver were present. Lois, Evan's wonderful caregiver, and her daughter came over from Greenville. She "wouldn't miss it for the world". Bea Bea, Jennifer Vaughn, and Brad Mayfield also came to see Evan that day. I don't think I could have put everything together without the help of our wonderful family.
Getting a little nervous.
"I am very unsure about this."
"What are you doing?!"
"It's not bathtime!!!"
"This man is crazy. Help!"
"Where's Mom, Need Mom."
"This is better, but I'm still upset about all of this."
Total recovery.
"Yawn.... It's my naptime"
Loving the attention.
Evan with his Aunt Liz
Evan with his Nana.
Grandma Amy, Aunt Rachel, and Grandpa Jack
Tuckered out.
We took these pictures a few weeks later. I realized
that I didn't have too many pictures of him in his gown.
Geoff was kind enough to help me dress him up all over again
and take these pictures.

Evan Update

Evan is almost 8 months old in most of these pictures. He now has five teeth. He is enjoying making many more sounds as he explores these new razor sharp teeth growing in his mouth. He likes to make motor boat noises and to just yell random noises at us. It's entertaining to say the least. We took some time off work and made our first family road trip...to Aiken, South Carolina. That's over 600 miles. We are brave. Luckily, we were able to stop at Geoff's sister's apartment in Montgomery, AL. The trip was actually very pleasant. We just stopped every few hours and relaxed on a blanket and let Evan stretch and play, then we were off again. We had a wonderful visit with Geoff's family in Aiken. Unfortunately, I believe we forgot to take pictures. I did post some from our stop in Montgomery. We have been battling exzema for several weeks, and I believe we are finally winning. Keep your fingers crossed. This has not been easy. We tried every remedy under the sun, then....it seems to have just gone away. I hope we continue to have baby soft, clear skin. Evan also had a battle with "monkey pox". No, this is not an obscure illness to be feared by all. We just know that it was not chicken pox, not rubella, not scarlet fever, etc. So, we just decided to call it "monkey pox", since Evan is our little monkey. He just had a few days of fever and fussiness followed by a rash. He is completely well now. Evan happened to be teething at the same time, so Geoff and I kept rubbing Orajel in his mouth and stuffing him full of teething tablets...poor little guy, needless to say, teething tablets do not help "monkey pox". Geoff put together Evan's wagon and we have been going on wagon rides almost daily. Evan travels with his wagon too. He rides in it at the Mayfield's, around the neighborhood, and even at the Bubba-Q.
Playing with Aunt Liz in Montgomery
Making his favorite motor boat noises...
this usually results in lots of spit flying across the room.
Having a great time
Stripes!
I think he likes to suprise me on where he will be in the crib in the morning.
Getting some "naked tummy time"
Geoff is blowing his hair in these pictures.
Evan loved it!
